Where else in the world can you kayak through a mangrove tunnel, watch mermaids sway in an underwater spring, and bike along miles and miles of coastline all within a short drive? Just living in Tampa Bay gives you an appreciation for the great outdoors.

Let’s celebrate Tampa Bay’s natural wonders all Earth Month Long, not just on Earth Day. Here’s a few events to get you started:

  • Hispanics for our Environment Kayak River Cleanup | Saturday, Apr. 8 | 8-11 a.m. | Lowry Park | Tampa Bay Kayak Anglers are hosting this cleanup — bring your kayak or take part in the on-land trash collection.
  • SPYP Community Service: Botanical Gardens | Saturday, Apr. 8 | 10 a.m.-12 p.m. | Florida Botanical Gardens | Pull out that green thumb for a workday in the future Majeed Discovery Garden with other St. Pete young professionals — make sure to register.
  • KPB Gandy Beach Cleanup | Saturday, Apr. 15 | 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | Gandy Beach | Take part in the 2023 Great American Cleanup effort to clear trash and debris from the popular stretch of shoreline — supplies are provided + make sure to register.
