It’s been a while. So what’s the latest update on the Gasworx project?
A reminder: The 6 million-sqft mixed-use Tampa development will connect Ybor Historic District and the Channel District with an influx of new housing, shops, and greenspace.
Juneau Construction Company just finished building the structure of Gasworx W2, according to a release. Once complete, the seven-story tower will boast 366,000 sqft with 390 housing units + offices, conference and work rooms, shopping, and parking.
Designers are aiming to create a space that blends with the historic neighborhood, while meeting the needs of residents, said Felix Deloatch, associate principal and director of Florida operations at Torti Gallas, the design team.
“Through thoughtful materials, historic detailing, and intentional transitions between the historic and new, we’ve created a design that feels authentic to Ybor’s past while embracing its future as a dynamic, connected community,” Deloatch added.
Leaders expect the first units to be finished by January 2026.
