New renderings for Gasworx revealed

Take a peek at the latest updates for the 50-acre Tampa project.

A massive Gasworx building covered with windows sits among the skyline. The rooftop features palm trees and string lights, as does the street below the tower.

The rooftop views are sure to be breathtaking.

The concrete is still wet on this news.

Construction on Phase 1 of Gasworx, one of Tampa’s latest mixed-use developments, is churning along. Now, we have new renderings of the community to share.

The project, from Kettler + developer Darryl Shaw, will transform 50 acres located between the Ybor Historic District and Channel District with new housing, shops, and greenspace. The centerpiece: a redesigned warehouse that will get a second life as a marketplace with open air seating.

Tons of people and their dogs sit on benches and on the lawn surrounded by buildings, one of which has a sign that says Gasworx on it.

The lawn will serve as a meeting spot for residents and visitors alike.

Need a refresher on the plans?

The 50-acre development will feature:

  • Six million sqft of mixed-use space
  • 5,000 residential units (including 300+ affordable units)
  • 140,000 sqft of retail space
  • 500,000 sqft of office space.

What’s the timeline?

Right now the project is still in Phase 1. The neighborhood’s first apartment complex, La Union Apartments, is projected to open in later this summer or in early fall. The tower will house 700+ new apartments and 10,000 sqft of retail space.

Developers also expect to start construction on the marketplace, office space, and two multi-family developments during this phase of the project.
