We’ve all heard of Tampa’s buzzy hub — Armature Works. The TECO Streetcar hangar turned food hall and event venue hosts a handful of must-do experiences for DIY lovers, artists, athletes, and shopping butterflies.
Here’s four unique + new ones for you to try in the coming weeks:
Get hands-on
Work your creative muscle with one of the spot’s do-it-yourself classes.
Invite the group chat and create wire-wrapped gemstone rings. Tickets cost $60 per person and include 15 gemstones + wires to try out the craft at home.
Craft a custom paper lantern to debut and light up the night sky at Tampa Riverfest’s Lantern Parade on Saturday, May 6. Tickets cost $35 per person and include a glass of wine.
Build your own air plant terrariums while learning about your birth charts + the elemental associations of crystals and gemstones. Bring your birth date, time, and location to get a better reading. Tickets cost $70 per person and include a glass of wine.
Take it outside
Half the fun of Armature Works is the massive lawn space and view of Tampa’s skyline and waterfront.
Paddleboard, surf ski, or canoe your way from Armature Works’ waterfront area down the Hillsborough River in a two or six-mile course. Tickets cost $50.

Clearwater Beach’s Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival

The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival in Clearwater is back. This year’s festival brings together 14 sand sculptors from around the world, each tasked with creating intricate creations based on the theme of “SANDimals, An Animal Adventure.”
The event runs for 17 days, from Friday, April 7-Sunday, April 23. Tickets to the sculpture exhibit are $14 per person, and kids three and under get in for free. You can watch the artists sculpt and model their creations during the speed contests held on the weekends at 4 p.m.
The festival features not only stunning sculptures but also a variety of competitions, live music, and much more.
The festival has three free concerts + fireworks shows.
