Try This: A day in the life of a Ridley at Waterset resident
Presented by a TBAYtoday Partner
Imagine relaxing out on a Sunday — or after work — by the scenic pool. | Photo by TBAYtoday
Hey, TBAY — Bailey here. You know I’d never miss the chanceto check out an apartment complex with layouts named after turtles(or with a library). Enter Ridley at Waterset, a swanky new community living hub located just outside Tampa.
I recently stopped by for a tour with Vinnie. Here’s an inside look at Ridley at Waterset + how you can Try This.
What we tried:
Let’s start with the important stuff. Residents can enjoy nitro cold brew from King State (some of the best beans in Tampa, in my opinion) or local Kombucha poured straight from the clubhouse’s tap on “Resident Fridays.”
I loved the foosball table on the second floor of the coastal chic clubhouse. It gave huge entertaining vibes.
There’s ample coziness to be found in the neighborhood — esp. in the zen garden with rock formations that invoke Stonehenge. ⛲️
I decided to enjoy my lunch break on Ridley’s patio. I camped out on a lounge chair in front of the massive pool + enjoyed the added warmth of the fire bowls. Hello, lunchtime tanning routine.*
Today marks the beginning of the first cold snap of the season. Forecasters say Tampa will jump to the mid-70s tomorrow, but the low will still be in the mid-50s. Enjoy the chill while it lasts — hotter temps will return for the weekend.🍂 (Tampa Bay Times)

Open
Holy mother of pearl. Look out, Gulfport, there’s a new upscale yet casual Mediterranean restaurant in town + it’s a reel catch. Recently relocated from Treasure Island, The Pearl serves high-end seafood — from lobster bites to Tuna Martinis. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday at 5802 28th Ave. S. Make your reservation. 🐠 (I Love the Burg)
Development
The Courtyard Hotel by Marriot in DTSPjust sold for $26.1 million. The stylish historic hotel has 128 rooms, which means the new owners bought each room for approximately $204,000. The downtown spot (located at 300 Fourth St. N.) was built in 1926 + is currently pet friendly. 🏨 (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
Transportation
The Cross Bay Ferry is back. Tickets go on sale today, and the first voyage leaves the dock at 4:45 p.m. Enjoy the first chill of fall with a cruise over to St. Pete for the Shine Mural Festival, or to Tampa for a downtown date night. Buy tickets here or at the dockside ticket booths. ⛴️
Traffic
Hillsborough County officials might add two more lanes to the stretch of I-275 from Hillsborough to Bearss. The traffic decongestion project could cost over $220 million. Officials plan to vote on the issue in February. 🚦 (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

You are looking at an award-winning pier. That’s right — the St. Pete Pier has been selected as a winner of the Urban Land Institute’s 2022 ULI Global Awards for Excellence. We share the honor with five other designs worldwide including:
Essex Crossing in New York City
Anken Alley in Shanghai
Enabling Village in Singapore
MÉCA in Bordeaux
Norblin Factory in Warsaw
We love the pier for its 26 acres of downtown waterfront including an aquatic learning center, ship-themed playground, Museum of History, and numerous dining options. Pro tip, if you haven’t eaten at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grille, you should. It has the best view of the spectacular structure.
