National Dog Day is coming up this weekend on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Whether you’re hoping to volunteer to help local dogs, pawty with your own furry friend, or add a new pooch to your family, check out a few ways to celebrate locally.

  • Adopt a furry friend at SPCA Tampa Bay’s Clear the Shelters event this Saturday starting at 10 a.m., where adoption fees will be waived.
  • Head to Hyde Park Village from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for photo ops, a chain stitching pop-up with Rose James at Downtown Dogs, and a free pup cup with your purchase at OddFellows.
  • Enjoy free entry all day at Two Shepherds Taproom for National Dog Day (you must pre-register your pup first).
  • Sign up to volunteer at Health Mutt’s Clear the Shelters event this Saturday and Sunday.
