Feed Gio a topic and he’ll spin you a tale on his vintage Hermes 3000 typewriter.

You’re going to have to power your smartphone down for this one.

Water Street just announced a digital detox event “A Way with Words,” as part of its Sunset Series. The Friday, April 21 event runs from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Here’s some of what’s on tap:

  • Local on-demand poet sensation Gio’s Typos will be in attendance to write verses about guests
  • Water Street will have a yard-sized dice set on hand for attendees to play Haikubes, a game that helps you create a haiku poem
  • Visitors can stop by the recently opened neighborhood bar Small Giant for library-themed cocktails
  • A performance by local spoken word artist Jamie Dawson
  • Folks can craft paper cranes inscribed with intentions that will become part of a community sculpture
