You might not have tickets to the Kentucky Derby action, but these local offerings will have you wondering if you’re in Louisville after all.

Check out the spread of plans for Saturday May 4:

  • Don your best hat + Southern flair for Intermezzo’s 6th Annual Kentucky Derby Formal — complete with an oyster bar, a five-piece band, mint juleps & derby cocktails, and best-dressed prizes.
  • Cheer local wiener dogs on as they trot to the finish in the Florida Wiener Dog Derby 14. The annual event also boasts a best nose + “Star Wars” costume contest.
  • Head to the St. Pete Pier for “the area’s largest Derby-themed event,” put on by 13 Ugly Men. The Derby at the Pier fundraiser features plenty of mint juleps and festive cocktails + lots of luxe VIP options. Buy tickets.
  • What better place to spend Derby day than the Downs? Tampa Bay Downs, that is. The racetrack’s celebration includes a live racing card, a showing of the race, and more.
  • Or head to Water Street Tampa’s A Day at the Races: Derby Celebration for a day of Derby-themed fun, including mint juleps from Small Giant, games, a rose bedecked photo booth, and more.
