Get used to the yellow train cars, Tampa.

Have you heard of Brightline? It’s a high-speed rail service that will soon connect Tampa and Orlando, according to Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.

Here are the need-to-know deets:

🚂 Brightline already runs 15 round trips per day between Orlando and Miami, and trips take about ~3.5 hours each way.
🚂 Castor visited Brightline stations around Florida earlier this week, and said Tampa’s will be located in Ybor City .
🚂 The mayor said the route will go down the middle of I-4 and has already been mapped out.
🚂 Last year, ~$15.9 million in federal funding was given to the project . Brightline said they would match that, bringing the total investment to ~$31.8 million.
🚂 Brightline is already bringing in ~$6.4 billion in revenue to the Sunshine State, according to ABC Action News .
🚂 The Mayor said an optimistic timeline for completion is “four to five years,” meaning we could be boarding the train to get to Orlando as soon as 2027.
