Waddle to the finish at these 2023 Tampa Bay area turkey trots

Everything you need to know about TBAY’s Thanksgiving races, ranging from 1 mile runs to 8K’s.

We’re pushin’ past the tryptophan and turkey trottin’ Thanksgiving morning away. Whether you prefer 5Ks or participating virtually, we’ve got you covered with a few TBAY trots:

Tampa Bay Turkey Trot | Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23 | 5K, 7 a.m. and 1-mile, 8:30 a.m. | 5K, $30, and 1-mile, $25 | The annual race kicks off next to Clearwater High School and part of the money raised goes to college scholarships for seniors from Pinellas County high schools. Racers are also invited to a kick-off party from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex — fees are higher in-person on race day.

Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble | Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23 | 5K, 7 a.m. and 1-mile, 7:15 a.m. | 5K, $45, 1-mile, $25, and Virtual, $30 | This downtown Tampa race starts and ends at Amalie Arena, so you can take in that stunning skyline while pounding pavement. The event offers a variety of race lengths and is stroller and dog-friendly — plus, the top three overall male and female runners will win $100 gift cards.

Gobbler 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run | Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23 | Gobbler 5K, 7:30 + 8:30 a.m., and 1-Mile Fun Run, 8:30 + 9 a.m. | Gobbler 5K, $40 and 1-Mile Fun Run + Virtual 5K, $35 | Race through the wilderness of Jay B. Starkey Park (10050 Wilderness Park Blvd.) in New Port Richey. This race is Fido and family-friendly, and features live music and vendors — all proceeds support First Christian Academy.
