Festival season may be waning as the temps heat up, but Tampa Bay’s dining scene never cools off. Today, we’re digging into three recently opened and soon-to-open spots across the area.
Toast the return of 8 p.m. (or later sunsets) with a Maru Martini at TBAY’s newest rooftop bar. Maru just opened on the seventh floor of Bayshore Gardens. Those Bayshore views can’t be beat.
The Nikkei cocktail bar offers options from sparkling wines and beer to lychee martinis, mocktails, and other handcrafted cocktails.
Cheeky’s, a new fish and raw bar is now open on Central Avenue. Prepare your gullet for chubby oysters, burgers, frozens, martinis, and blackened grouper sandwiches, duh. Plus, it’s the offspring of one of the Willa’s founders + promises New England oyster bar meets Old Florida fish shack vibes.

Metropolitan Ministries is pausing most of its mobile outreach program efforts for a month.The local nonprofit is losing 30 employees who received federal stipends from AmeriCorps — including staffers that facilitated the program. We’re already dreaming of Ruya. The new Moroccan-inspired cafe and wine bar opens in the Burg’s Grand Central District this summer.
