Festival season may be waning as the temps heat up, but Tampa Bay’s dining scene never cools off. Today, we’re digging into three recently opened and soon-to-open spots across the area.

Maru

Toast the return of 8 p.m. (or later sunsets) with a Maru Martini at TBAY’s newest rooftop bar. Maru just opened on the seventh floor of Bayshore Gardens. Those Bayshore views can’t be beat.

The Nikkei cocktail bar offers options from sparkling wines and beer to lychee martinis, mocktails, and other handcrafted cocktails. Owners promise a menu packed with dishes that blend “Peruvian inspiration” with “Japanese precision.” Think sake temaki, maguro nori nachos, and caviar service.

Fish po' boys, dip and crackers, and a red soft drink cup reading "Cheeky's. St. Pete" rests on a blue table with a menu.

Cheeky’s

Here in Tampa Bay, seafood is essentially its own separate food group. Let’s meet the latest catch.

Cheeky’s, a new fish and raw bar, just opened on Central Avenue. Prepare your gullet for chubby oysters, burgers, frozens, martinis, and blackened grouper sandwiches, duh. Plus, it’s the offspring of one of the Willa’s founders + promises New England oyster bar meets Old Florida fish shack vibes.

The Detroit-based brand offers elevated men’s, women’s, and kid’s threads for golf, racquet clubs, or just plain relaxing. Stop in to browse racks and racks of outerwear, polos, monochromatic moments, and more in the cozy store.
