Getting to the West Coast is about to get a whole lot easier. Tampa International is launching new nonstop flights to LAX in 2026. Southwest Airlines will kick off flights on Jan. 11, 2026. Get that REAL ID now. (That’s So Tampa)

A tattered downtown St. Pete tower is coming down. Last week, St. Pete City Council approved initial plans to replace the 11-story tower with a 17-story boutique hotel. The $20 million project will also boast commercial space, a bar, and retail space. (Tampa Bay Times)
