Development

Tampa International just unveiled new renderings for its incoming Airside D expansion. The $1.5 billion project is humming along, with about 30% of the design done. The airport’s board also approved a $91 million contract to start work on the project later this month. (That’s So Tampa)

This week’s lunches just got a lot better. Sweetgreen opens tomorrow, Dec. 10 on the Burg’s Central Avenue. Stop by for leafy veggie packed bowls, salads, and plenty of protein plates. Plus, for every meal purchased, the eatery will donate a meal to Feeding Tampa Bay. (I Love the Burg)

Listen up, TBAY gardeners: Watering restrictions are changing. The Southwest Florida Water Management District pulled back a Shortage Order for St. Petersburg. Now, residents can water their lawns up to twice a week, ideally between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. (St. Pete Catalyst)

Grammy-nominated Tampa rapper Doechii gave the Cigar City a shoutout on “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last week. While performing hits from her 2024 release “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” she proclaimed, “in the 813, this my legacy.” (Tampa Bay Times)
