Yes, you’ve seen them running through your neighborhood or down Bayshore. A pack of well-toned, brightly athletic-clothed people. That could be you, all you have to do is join a run club. No prior 5Ks or marathons necessary. Woof.
As we embark on prime running season, I, City Editor Bailey, am lacing up my pink Hokas to give running... erm fast-paced walking... with local run clubs a whirl.
Off Balanced Run Club You’ve definitely seen this crew making their way through Water Street Tampa or Hyde Park. The popular TBAY club meets on Tuesdays and Saturdays + offers all kinds of special events with TBAY brands like Chill Bros. I guess that’s a good reason to run.
Pinellas Run Club The largest run club in Pinellas County hosts a plethora of jogging options throughout the week. The club meets at spots around the 727 every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 7 a.m.
Armature Works Run Club A run club that loops back to your fave spot to grab beers and apps on the riverfront? Say less. Join Fit2Run for 5Ks along the Riverwalk every first and third Wednesday of the month.
Run the Heights Looking for a club that accommodates a busy schedule? The Seminole Heights squad meets on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays — so you can always fit a run in.
Or if (like me) walking’s more your speed, try out:
St. Pete Girls Who Walk On Wednesdays we wear the theme color. The popular Sunshine City walking group meets all across the Burg + partners with local coffee shops and breweries for discounts on drinks after the stroll. There’s also a sister — or brother — club, St. Pete Guys Who Walk.
Tampa Girls Who Walk Whether you’re looking to make friends with a Bouzy Bayshore stroll or add more steps to your day, this walking + social club is a standout option.

In a time where we’re being inundated by political agendas and polarizing ads, TBAYtoday proudly serves you positive media on the daily that focuses on all the good that’s happening in Tampa.
We’re a place where people come to learn and fall in love with what’s local, from dining options to community events. We never accept political advertising, so if your brand is tired of being constantly bumped by those ads, consider us your safe space.
Earlier this week we asked which local business would you like to see in the Gasworx marketplace:
While we did get a few suggestions for national brands like Costco and Trader Joe’s — heard — we were most interested in TBAY brands.
Readers wrote in to suggest Silver Ring Cafe, which recently reopened in Tampa, sell its legendary Cuban sandwiches in the marketplace. Another wrote in requesting a restaurant from the Columbia. We’re sensing a theme.
And finally, one reader proposed a new Blind Tiger location. I mean, we’re going to need some caffeine for checking out all of the new offerings.
Every day seems to end in torrential downpower lately. I recommend joining your area’s Facebook group — like this one for South Tampa and Hyde Park residents — to evaluate flooding, ask for assistance, and of course, to give back to your neighbors. I love you for that.
