Hey, hey, Champa Bay. City Editor Bailey here with a recap of the 2023 NFL draft.
It’s never too early to be excited for football season, right? In the words of my little brother, no.
Here’s a few of the newest members of the Bucs:
In the first round, with the 19th pick, the Bucs selected Calijah Kancey, a defensive end out of Pittsburgh (and Miami native). The Bucs’ General Manager noted that Calijah possesses “elite athleticism and quickness.” Read up on the past All-American’s college career and stats.
The Bucs picked up Cody Mauch, an offensive tackle, from the Lions in the second round. The 24-year-old played college ball for North Dakota State and won’t replace his missing front teeth until he’s done playing football, according to the Bucs.
In the third round, the team selected YaYa Diaby. The power rusher has started three seasons with Louisville.
