The City of Tampa is getting ready for a whole heap of downtown visitors tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 9. Here’s what we know + how to navigate the crowds:
What’s happening?
Downtown is awash with events tomorrow, including two shows by comedian Nate Bargatze at Amalie Arena, the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, seven events at Armature Works , and several goings on at the Tampa Convention Center, including all-star cheerleading.love!!
Because of this, 30,000+ people are expected to come in and out of the area.
How to get around the issue
Road closures
, mostly along the river, are also in effect at the moment, meaning traffic + parking could be an issue. You could always use an alternative mode of transport:
- The free-to-ride TECO Streetcar runs between Ybor City and downtown.
- Ride-share services stop the parking-spot hunt, like Uber, Lyft, or DASH .
- The Pirate Water Taxi has stops along the Hillsborough River, and also has one on each of Davis + Harbour Islands.
