School is nearly back in session, TBAY. Now, let’s get the kiddos — and teachers — prepped with all the supplies for the new school year.

Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday 2024 runs through Sunday, Aug. 11 and allows residents to skip the sales tax on school year essentials like laptops, pencils, backpacks, pants, shirts, binders, headphones, notebooks, and pens.

But there are a few guidelines to be aware of before you hit Target. The deal only applies to:

  • School supplies selling for $50 or less
  • Learning aids that cost $30 or less
  • Clothes and shoes selling for $100 or less per item
  • Personal computers and related accessories that cost $1,500 or less per item

Wondering if your potential purchase falls under the guidelines? Check out the Florida Revenue Department’s full list.
