Tampa Bay area Día De Los Muertos specials and events

We’ve rounded up three ways to spend the holiday — from Mexican eats to adding to a memory wall.

Here’s a peek at Lona’s fare.

Día De Los Muertos is upon us, TBAY. The Mexican holiday fondly remembers loved ones who have died. Celebrate at these local community gatherings:

  • Stop by Nueva Cantina on Thursday, Nov. 2 for Cazadores margarita pitchers and other drink deals.
  • Lona Tampa is serving up a special menu in honor of the holiday through Nov. 5. The modern Mexican spot’s lineup includes empanadas de muertos, avocado mezcal shots, and blood orange margaritas.
  • It’s a bit outside of our usual coverage area, but we also wanted to recommend The 19th Annual Dia De Los Muertos: Festival Of The Skeletons in Bradenton (1227 12th St. W.). This year’s event is booked for Saturday, Nov. 4 + features a community shrine dedicated to the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, and a memory wall where you can honor your loved ones.
