Not only is securing a Hillsborough County Library or Pinellas County Library card free, but the perks are priceless. Here are the benefits of having a library card at Hillsborough’s 29 locations or Pinellas’ 14 locations.

📚 Books and digital content

  • Hillsborough + Pinellas libraries allow you to browse books in person or reserve them online.
  • Both libraries also offer free audiobooks, movies, and music.

🖼 Museum access

  • In Hillsborough County, library members can check out a Discovery Pass to gain access to Glazer Children’s Museum, the Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Straz Center for the Performing Arts, and other local museums and attractions. Reserve a pass.
  • Similarly, Pinellas County residents can check out a Museum Pass — which gets you (up to two adults and three children from the same household) free admission to 13 local attractions. Browse availability online.

  • The Hive (at multiple HCPL locations) offers weekly tech classes, recording studios, youth STEM events, sewing classes, meeting space, and 3D-printing classes.
  • Pinellas County has a partnership with the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society — so you can check out a uke of your own or attend a workshop to learn how to strum.
