Looking for ways to exercise your civic duty — and support your neighbors?

Officials are looking for about 450+ volunteers to help out with the annual Hillsborough County Homeless Point-In-Time Count this Thursday, Feb. 22.

Volunteers will set out from seven locations to help log the number of unhoused folks throughout the area. The data will then be used to “help implement housing solutions to reduce the length of time and the number of people experiencing homelessness,” according to officials.

The group will canvas encampments, meal sites, shelters, and other locations throughout the county — collecting data through a brief survey and observation.

Register online for one of two shifts — 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 3-8 p.m. Or head to Sparkman Wharf during the day to check out local resources + chat with officials about the issue.
