Being sick is the worst, but the healing effect of warm soup is definitely the silver lining. Also, it’s delicious, so don’t feel like you need to wait for a sniffly nose before indulging.

👋 Hey, TBAY. City Editor Brad here. I definitely slept on the power of soup until my most recent scuffle with strep. I’m here to say that my fridge is now fully stocked with quarts and pints of every flavor and variety.

Here’s what’s in stock:

Phở Quyên Vietnamese Cuisine

8404 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa

Pho typically has herbs, meat, warm broth, and rice noodles — kind of similar to a chicken noodle soup. We recommend Chicken Pho Ga. It’s jam-packed with ramen.

La Creperia Cafe

1729 E. 7th Ave., Tampa

What’s more French than a crepe? Perhaps a savory French onion soup. And while you could easily order Panera’s version online, La Creparia’s version has a wonderful piece of floating fresh baguette. You can tell it’s made with love, which is what this iconic dish is all about. Side note: The cheese pull was extreme, and when you’re sick, you’ll take all the fun you can get.

New China

928 58th St. N., Saint Petersburg

It’s pretty hard to go wrong with a throat-soothing and gut-filling bowl of wonton soup. Plus, this restaurant gets bonus points for staying open until 10 p.m.
