So, how’d things (the 2022 Midterm Election) shake out?

Governor Ron DeSantis won another term, Marco Rubio held on to his seat in the US Senate, and Anna Paulina Luna nabbed a seat in Congress — to name a few.

Here are the results from some of our local amendment races + referendums.

  • Hillsborough residents voted down the transportation tax referendum 51 percent to 48 percent. The tax would have created a 1-cent sales tax that would be used to make repairs to county roads.
  • St. Pete voted yes on allowing the Dalí Museum to expand on the southwest side of the existing building. Read more on the referendum here.
  • St. Pete voters also approved Charter Amendment No. 1 — which will align the city’s election cycle with the county, state, and national races during even-numbered years. Mayor Ken Welch + all current city council members will each receive an extra year in office due to the change.

Visit the AP or State Department for more election results.
