Every spring, a massive pink Tabebuia tree planted in the Old Northeast Neighborhood produces hundreds of bright rose blossoms. Also called the “pink trumpet tree,” the species is native to the West Indies and Puerto Rico, according to the University of Florida.
This weekend, consider taking a scenic bike ride or stroll down the public walking path along the water in the historic neighborhood. We recommend ending your adventure with a hammock sesh at North Shore Park or a drink at the Old Northeast Tavern .
It’s worth noting that the tree is on private property. Make sure to take photos from the street or the nearby sidewalk, not the yard itself.
