Meet the Florida Gulf Coast Trail

Do we have any hikers, bikers, or trail trotters in our midst? Good news for any and all of you, Trust for Public Land is working on bringing the Florida Gulf Coast Trail to fruition, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Once completed, the 420-mile trail will be one of the longest-continuous trails in the Sunshine State. What’s more, the project will link seven counties — including Pinellas and Hillsborough + 52 more communities — bringing adventurers from all over TBAY together.

In the meantime, set out on one of the state’s other longest trails — difficulty varies:

Florida National Scenic Trail: Both the Eastern Corridor or Western Corridor each run ~1,285 miles.
Conservation Levee Greenway Loop: 48.4 miles
Suncoast Parkway Trail: 41.3 miles
The Withlacoochee State Trail (longest paved trail): 47 miles
