Local media runs on you

Each day, we write the TBAYtoday newsletter with one goal: to help you better connect with your community. And each day, our friends across the US, from Seattle to Tampa Bay, do the same.

Here at 6AM City, we know the value of investing in local media. It keeps neighbors connected and the community informed. We’re invested in improving how you experience Tampa Bay, like what events to attend + the latest city initiatives and developments to keep an eye on — all in our free newsletter. How is that sustainable, you might ask?

We partner with national brands and some of Tampa Bay’s best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox, but efforts don’t stop there. Over the next six days, we’re running a reader-driven campaign to help sustain the continuation of what we do best.

We’re committed to keeping our newsletter in front of a paywall, because the truth is, we thrive on our love for the local community, whether it’s:

  • Curating news for every Tampan | Like this roundup of upcoming Tampa Bay restaurants and this feature on how we’re getting a 250-ft-tall observation wheel
Helping you plan for major events | From festival coverage to our TBAYtoday Events section filled with the most-anticipated events in Tampa Bay
  • Maintaining our credibility + trust | Fun fact: Our company has turned down more than a million dollars in political ads since we started
If TBAYtoday has had a meaningful impact on the way you live life in Tampa Bay, like it has for us, we’d love to have your support. Think of it as buying us a coffee to help keep the good news coming.

Looking for the next new restaurant hitting Tampa Bay’s food scene? Check out these buzzy places to eat and drink in Tampa + St. Pete — plus, one spot coming soon.

1983, Tampa | New American | Reservations: Yes
This “neighborhood social hub” serves up casual brunch, family dinner, and casual fare on the expansive outdoor patio.

Cognac, Downtown St. Pete | French | Reservations: Yes
We’ll take the mussels, caviar, and actually the whole menu. Cognac, a new French bistro from the owners of Bacchus, serves a daily happy hour brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Fisk, Tampa | Scandinavian bistro | Reservations: Yes
Michelin-starred chef Ebbe Vollmer opened a second Tampa restaurant late last year. And it’s right next door to his second concept, Ebbe. The intimate spot serves a constantly evolving menu of fish and Scandinavian dishes.

The Moon Under Water | British | Opening date: TBD
Talk about a comeback kid. The longtime Sunshine City British pub is reopening just four years after its 2021 closure — but now in Gulfport. The pub’s old menu was packed with British staples like sausage rolls and cod fingers, plus award-winning Indian dishes.
