Shopapalooza Festival

Over 350 local makers join Shopapalooza Festival every year.

Black Friday season — because it seems to stretch on for weeks at this point — is here. One of our favorite TBAY traditions, Shopapalooza, keeps it local.

This year’s shopping festival is booked for Saturday, Nov. 29 + Sunday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Vinoy Park. Head to the waterfront perch to browse 350+ vendors like Annie’s Plant Pallette, Banyan Books, and Colorista’s Closet.

Our expert tips:
  • Register to win a shopping spree each day.
  • Don’t try to find a spot downtown, there’s a free shuttle from the South Core Garage.
  • Print out a Holiday Biz Bingo to check a few squares off during your trip.
  • Bring the whole family and the pup — kids and pets are welcome.

Answered

Last week, we asked “Which isn’t part of the Straz’s expansion plans?”

A rendering of the Straz's outdoor space shows a covered dining area filled with people at tables, sitting next to a lit performance stage along the Riverwalk.

Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy a meal and a show on the riverfront.

About 49% of readers correctly guessed that an outdoor amphitheater isn’t part of the plans. I did fool 51% of folks though.

The massive expansion is underway — take a peek next time you’re jogging down the Riverwalk. Here’s the full breakdown.

Make sure you read tomorrow’s edition for an extra special surprise while I’m out. Don’t say I never gave you anything.
