News Notes

Health

Ybor City is getting its own hospital. Tampa General Hospital wants to build a medical facility on the east end of the historic neighborhood. The broader plans include primary care and urgent care services, and potentially, a hotel and housing. The project still requires Tampa City Council approval. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

Civic

Tampa City Council members are considering increasing fees on new development to help pay for needed city upgrades. Fees haven’t increased since 1989. The money would go toward new projects like bridges, roadways, turn lanes, bicycle paths, and sidewalks. (Tampa Bay Times)

How are Tampa Bay’s breweries faring as craft beer drops in popularity across the US? One local brewery owner says he expects lots of closures, but also some pivoting. To what? (Tampa Bay Times)

Traffic
