Food Network Host and celeb chef Geoffrey Zakarian is opening a new restaurant in St. Pete’s The Central. We don’t have a name — or an opening date yet — but the team promises it will center “around St. Petersburg’s unique story.” (St. Pete Rising)

St. Pete recently approved a new study to see if flood gate installations will protect neighborhoods from flood waters + storm surges. The $147,451 study will evaluate whether placing gates at Canal No. 7 near 46th Avenue and another at Bayou Grande Boulevard Northeast would effectively protect Shore Acres. (Q105)
