Yes, you’ve seen them running through your neighborhood or down Bayshore. A pack of well-toned, brightly athletic-clothed people. That could be you, all you have to do is join a run club. No prior 5Ks or marathons necessary. Woof.

As we near running season, I, City Editor Bailey, am lacing up my pink Hokas to give running... erm fast-paced walking... with local run clubs a whirl.

It’s sponsored by Brooks, so you know this pick is legit. This national run club is popping up in the Cigar City for the fourth time on Saturday, Aug. 30. Meet at Armature Works for a run along the waterfront, then race or jog back to the hub for live DJ sets, free breakfast, drinks, and raffles.

The Shine Mural Festival will look a little different this year. Organizers just pushed the annual festival from October to early November due to overlap with hurricane season. This year’s event runs from Friday, Nov. 7 to Sunday, Nov. 16, and will not feature international artists. (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay)
