News Notes

Civic

What’s $93 million get you in Tampa? Well, the Tampa Water Department just spent that much to revamp the nearly century-old David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility with a new high service pump station, a better disinfection process, and more water storage. In short, residents will get cleaner water faster. (That’s So Tampa)

The Wrap

Everyone in America — or at least on my corner of the internet — is enraptured with the new Superman, David Corenswet. But here in Tampa Bay, we’re obsessed with last hurricane season’s hero: the AquaFence.

I appreciated this deep dive into whether St. Pete’s new AquaFence around the wastewater site will allow residents to flush during future storms. I hope we don’t have a reason to test it soon.
