It’s kinda like the Black Friday of olde, but different. When the sun rises at 6:43 a.m. tomorrow morning, shoppers will roam Beach Drive, Central Avenue, and throughout downtown St. Pete hunting for deals at the Sunrise Sale.

Wear your pajamas for extra discounts or small gifts, and get your morning steps in — or hop on the SunRunner — to check out the 40+ participating spots (all are marked with yellow flags).

There’s plenty of Burg boutiques on the list like Ashe Couture and Brutique, but you can also find deals at spots like Seymour’s Bagel Shop, Old Northeast Jewelers, and J.Con Salon. Let us know what you get.

The $134 million project would boast 370 luxury apartments + 3,819 sqft of commercial space on the ground floor. The St. Pete Development Review Commission still needs to approve the plans. “Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay!” The Bucs are bringing back the ’76 Jersey for one season only — featuring the fight song lyric stitched in creamsicle along the collar. The limited edition jerseys also boast orange numbers outlined in red. Here’s a look.

Calling all Mangosteen fans. The Asian-inspired eatery’s owner just introduced a new culinary spot to the Burg’s palate. Plate Sushi Grill and Lounge just opened in the ground floor of the Arte apartment building, offering tapas + affordable omakase. (I Love the Burg)

Ranked

No. 5. That’s where WalletHub ranked the Cigar City on its list of best cities in the nation for recreation in 2025. We know that’s right — based on the sheer number of waterfront amenities and walkable parks. Don’t worry, the Burg closely followed at No. 20. (That’s So Tampa)

Answered

Yesterday, we asked “What type of fish ISN’T common around Tampa Bay?”

St. Pete Pier

The St. Pete Pier is a popular fishing spot.

Somehow, I fooled most of you. The right answer was tropical bonefish — though a few lucky anglers have yanked them in from our waters over the years.
  • 51% of readers guessed trout — which is actually one of our most common catches
  • 38% of folks correctly guessed bonefish trout
  • 8% of people guessed black drum
  • 4% of readers said bull shark

The Wrap

I’m sure those of us who aren’t tired of the Rays stadium/sale saga are eating up all of the updates and analysis on the impending sale to the Patrick Zalupski-led group. I really appreciated this zoomed-out look at Sternberg’s run with the Rays.

But, as per usual, there’s more news. Major League Baseball says if the Rays make the playoffs, they can play their home games at Steinbrenner Field too. Knock on wood.
