What’s more legendary than the Tampa Bay Sun winning the Super League Championship in the league’s inaugural season? Oh yeah, sharing the plans for a brand-new stadium the week after.
The Tampa Bay Sun, Darryl Shaw, and the United Soccer League just shared the vision for the team’s new Ybor Harbor waterfront stadium. Add another accolade to the list: It’s also one of the “world’s first stadiums built for a women’s professional soccer team,” according to the team’s release.
Beyond the stadium, the 33-acre mixed use development will also feature a boutique hotel and space for USL headquarters.

The Beck Group will design the stadium, but the timeline and project cost are still to come — we’ll keep you posted. Once it is finished, the venue will also host US National Team + international matches, festivals, and concerts.
“Tampa is a city of champions — and now we’re dreaming even bigger,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “The stadium would deliver a place that captures our city’s energy, inspires the next generation, and stands as a national symbol of what happens when cities invest boldly in women’s sports and inclusive economic growth.”
