What’s going up across TBAY?

A new rendering of the exterior of Tampa's new Airside D shows a modern, steel and windowed terminal flocked by red and blue-winged planes, palm trees, and cloudy blue skies.

Hello, New York ...erhmm Tampa. But seriously, the Cigar City’s not feeling so small anymore, with the influx of new mixed-use projects, redevelopments, and yeah, huge new airport terminals.

We have some major updates on two key Tampa projects:

Airside D

Leaders just unveiled a new peek at the incoming 16-gate terminal at a recent Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Board of Directors meeting. The design process is about 60% complete, and should be wrapped up by the end of the year, according to a release.

Best of all, TPA is looking for your feedback on the plans. Residents will be able to weigh in at listening sessions across TBAY — in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Keep an eye on the project site for updates.
The rendering shows multiple blocks of shopping centers.

Britton Plaza

Brixmor Property Group is planning a massive transformation of South Tampa’s longtime shopping center, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The 30 acres will likely be divided into three zones or “experiences” with lots of shopping and potentially housing.

And yes, the iconic sign might be here to stay.
