Community

We know many TBAY residents are still recouping from last fall, but it’s time to prepare for this hurricane season. This Saturday, May 31, head to Fossil Park for a giant prep session with tips from Bay News 9 + National Weather Service meteorologists, free kit supplies + pet microchipping. (I Love the Burg)

$745 million. That’s how much The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority wants to invest in beefing up the city’s roads. Projects include adding lanes + longer merge areas to the Selmon Expressway and a signature bridge over the Hillsborough River. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

Development

Tampa needs a new courthouse — especially after Hillsborough Courthouse suffered major water damage when water flowed back into the pipes post-Hurricane Helene. Local officials are getting the money together to make it happen. (Tampa Bay Times)

The Burg’s getting a PGA Superstore. It’s a truly massive one too: a 290,000-sqft store in the old Bealls location. We don’t have an opening date yet, but you can expect tons of golf gear, plus indoor putting greens, simulators, lessons, and club repairs. (St. Pete Catalyst)

It’s that time of year again. The Rays Yard Sale is this Saturday, May 31. The sale takes over Tropicana Field’s Lot 7 with thousands of Rays-related items.
