Tampa Bay is what some might call a budding brew-topia — with 100+ taprooms spread out across our slice of the Gulf Coast.
It is time to celebrate Tampa Bay Beer Week: an annual bash highlighting our area’s incredible craft brewing scene with events and education. Now through Sunday, March 9, thirsty Cigar City residents can enjoy beer-themed trivia, new releases, home brewing sessions, and a toga party.
While we can’t possibly tap into every option on the lineup, here’s a small sip for you:
Tuesday, March 4
Battle Royale VII | Lowry Parcade, Tampa | Five Tampa breweries battle each other in a selection of arcade and pinball games for the coveted wrestling belt prize.
Wednesday, March 5
Females of Foam | Webb’s City Cellar, St. Petersburg | Toast to new brews and an evening of thoughtful conversation as five outstanding women involved in the local brewing scene share their insights.
Thursday, March 6
TBBW Golf Classic | Eagles Golf & Country Club, Odessa | Hit the local links on your own or with a team for the inaugural Tampa Bay Beer Week Golf Classic.

Tampa Electric and Duke Energy customers should expect their bills to go up $20 this month. Officials say the rate increase is to offset damages from last year’s back-to-back hurricanes. Follow us on Instagram for even more need-to-know news.

Speaking of rate hikes, Florida Power & Light is pursuing a $9 billion hike to customers’ base rates over a four-year period. The Florida Public Service Commission will review the rate hike, which could go into effect next year. (Tampa Bay Times)

St. Pete is spending $1.5+ billion on stormwater projects. The recently established St. Pete Agile Resilience program focuses on 16 projects to mitigate neighborhood flooding citywide and protect critical facilities from storm surges. Calling all Vintage Marche regulars. Founders of the massive vintage market are taking over the next door Skyway marina District location, with plans to operate a cafe serving coffee and pastries in the space.
