The FEMA application deadline for financial assistance after Hurricanes Milton and Helene was extended to Tuesday, Jan. 7. Homeowners and renters who experienced damage from the hurricanes can apply online or use the FEMA app.
Development
New York-based Red Apple Group — the developer behind The Residences at 400 Central, St. Pete’s tallest building — has plans to build a new tower overlooking Mirror Lake. The company is currently under contract to purchase a site near the lake + plans to close the deal before the end of the year. (Tampa Bay Times)

Largo will soon be home to a new housing project for low-income residents. Currently The Oasis at Bayside, the site will be transformed to feature 247 units for those earning less than 80% of the area’s median income, three units for those earning up to 50%, and eight units for those earning up to 65%. Real Estate
Orlando-based Foundry Commercial recently purchased vacant land in East Tampa for $8 million to build a 262,000-sqft industrial complex. Officials plan to break ground on the complex in early 2025, with an anticipated completion date in the first quarter of 2026. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital has plans to expand its St. Petersburg campus in 2025. The $62 million, 28,000-sqft expansion — slated to add new emergency exam rooms, surgical operating rooms, and an MRI machine — is scheduled for completion in July 2026. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

Barcelona Wine Bar is now open in Tampa off Bayshore Boulevard. The new restaurant and bar features over 400 curated bottles of wine and a tapas-style menu with items like patatas bravas + chickpea cazuela. (That’s So Tampa)
Plan Ahead
The Floridian Social will ring in the new year while celebrating 100 years of business with a party on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Purchase tickets now ($125+) for the event that will feature a five-piece jazz band, a circus and burlesque show, a live DJ, and Frick Frack Blackjack. (I Love the Burg)

BayCare Health System plans to move into the former Barnes & Noble location in Carrollwood. The health system purchased the space for $10.5 million to open an urgent care services facility featuring outpatient imaging, outpatient laboratory services, and specialists offices. (Tampa Bay Times)

Over $12 million. That’s how much Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is seeking in a lawsuit against his father’s company, Camwood Capital Management Group. According to the lawsuit, the company and its subsidiaries allegedly failed to fulfill their end of a settlement agreement. (WFLA)
