From quick and easy loops around town to drives that take you to fantastic beaches and forests, our region has so many options to hit the trail. So lace up your hiking boots, because we’ve compiled a hiking guide for the Tampa Bay area with 16 routes and trails to help you plan your next adventure and experiencebreathtaking views.
Note: While parks and trails may be listed as open, we recommend checking park websites before visiting for further info, current trail conditions, and the safest practices for the area.
Key: Easy = 🥾| Moderate = 🥾🥾 | Hard = 🥾🥾🥾 (Spoiler alert, we don’t have any hard trails because most of Florida is flat.)
Combine the Palmetto, Pavilion, and River Loop Trails for a leisurely — but slightly more difficult — hike exploring this Old Florida paradise. This trail can sometimes flood, so pick a sunny day for your hike.
The best part about Tampa Bay’s hikes? The views. This scenic trail winds past some of the exclusive area’s homes and offers top notch waterfront vistas.
It’s the best way to explore the county — in our opinion — from St. Pete all the way to Tarpon Springs. Do as much or as little of the paved trail as you like. Then stop off to try new eateries at one of the many businesses located off the trail.
A more efficient way to get around, though, is on electric wheels.
This scenic trail offers breathtaking views of nature with a diverse range of wildlife, such as crabs and woodpeckers. Enjoy informational panels throughout the trail about the local flora and fauna.

The news about Tampa scoring “one of North America’s most beloved music festival brands” kind of broke the internet last week. That can only mean one thing: Our readers really love their country bops.
We’re still waiting on more news about the incoming festival — which is slated for May 2025. But in the meantime, we’re sharing some of the superstars our readers want to take the stage.
The most popular suggestions on the list were:
Chris Stapleton
Kacey Musgraves
Morgan Wallen
Zach Bryan
Lainey Wilson
Post Malone
Luke Combs
And, in case you’d prefer to listen along, we created a playlist of what the rockin’ Ray Jay show could sound like if our readers crafted the lineup.

Earlier this week we asked “How often do you head to a theme park?”
We’re already dreaming of that drop.

It seems a Busch Gardens visit may be in the cards. About 45% of our readers said they rarely head to the theme park. But we do have a good chunk of thrill seekers among the class — with 31% of folks saying they go a few times a year.
The rest of our readers are split. About 12% hit up our theme parks all the time, and about 12% rarely seek out a theme park adventure.
Speaking of thrill seekers, I have one for those who prefer their adventures on the water (that’s me). Right now the Bay Rocket is offering BOGO tickets. So you can experience the 180° spins and speedy ride while holding your bestie’s hand. Or not.
