A prime parcel of St. Pete real estate is off the market. Developer Third Lake Partners paid $10 million for the parking lot — located west of the former UPC headquarters — Moffitt Cancer Center almost bought. Third Lake has five years to start construction before incurring damages. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
Eat
Move over Bobby Flay. Chef and the Baker, a pastry paradise, just opened in South Tampa. Its claim to fame? One of the co-owners once trounced Bobby Flay in a Food Network competition. Stop by for croix donuts, empanadas, croissants, and coffee. (That’s So Tampa)
Outdoors
This one’s for the sunset seekers. Soon, you’ll be able to take in supreme waterfront views from new swing benches at St. Pete parks like North Straub, Vinoy Park, and Coffee Pot. The Majeed Foundation paid for the benches, which will be installed soon. (I Love the Burg)
Transit
Ditch the car — at least for the day. Car Free Day St. Pete is hosting a scavenger hunt in honor of World Car Free Day on Sunday, Sept. 22. Register for an “Amazing Race"-style competition where participants will use bikes and public transit to complete challenges. (I Love the Burg)
Outdoors
How are Pinellas County’s beach renourishment projects going? Public Works estimates the county lost ~300,000 cubic yards of sand during Hurricane Debby. Right now, Pinellas is behind on renourishment needs. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

A candle warmer. Ditch the matches and opt for this contemporary lamp that will evenly burn your candles, sans smoke.
Remember the glorious menu I created for Swig last week? Patent still pending, by the way. The Creamsicle seemed to be a fan favorite among our readers, garnering ~54% of the vote.
The Pirate’s Bounty came in at a close-ish second, pulling in a strong ~27% of readers. And finally, the Rum and Coke was not a crowd favorite, only scoring ~18% of votes. Better with alcohol I guess.
