This Monday marks Labor Day — an annual federal holiday, first designated in 1894, that honors the contributions of workers in America.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is halting its plans — for now — to construct pickleball courts and golf courses at nine state parks. The state will go “back to the drawing board” on the proposal, which included changes to two Tampa Bay area parks. (Tampa Bay Times)

Tampa General is solidifying its relationship with USF Health with a $162 million donation. The money will be used for “increasing integration, recruiting providers, advancing research initiatives, and continuing to create jobs,” according to a release. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

The Asian Mega Night Market returns to St. Pete this weekend. Tomorrow, Aug. 30 to Sunday, Sept. 1, there will be a range of street food options + live entertainment at 855 28th St. S. Parking starts at $10.
