  • Meet Modern Market Eatery. The national fast casual chain plans to open eight locations in the Big Guava over the next several years. The brand’s menu is packed with hearty eats, from protein bowls and salads to pizza and soups. We’re eyeing the curry salmon. (That’s So Tampa)

  • Calling all TECO and Duke Energy customers. Utility bills should be lower in June “because of lower-than-expected natural gas costs,” state Public Service Commission staff members have advised. (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay)

  • Last week, we told you about Dirty Shirley changing hands. Now, plans for the Downtown St. Pete spot are here. The owners have already tasted success with Bacchus, and now plan to launch Cognac in the space this fall, a relaxed Parisian eatery. (I Love the Burg)

  • Fairgrounds St. Pete is bringing some happiness to Tampa International. Jabari Reed (who goes by iBOMS) + the immersive art space just unveiled a new art installation crafted with tons of rubber ducks at the airport. Find the exhibit inside TPA’s Main Terminal. (That’s So Tampa)

  • Help keep the cat colony at bay. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is hosting a free spay/neuter day on Monday, May 6 for 85 feral cats. Folks can bring in up to three cats per person. Make an appointment online.
