Hot homes: Condos + apartments for sale in the Tampa Bay area

The Parkcrest Harbour Island condo community sits in the sunshine. The building has a red roof, blue and grey walls, and roughly eight stories of windows. There are boats sat in the Hillsborough River in the foreground, and palm trees surround the building.

If you look around the Tampa Bay area, you’ll see plenty of enticing real estate on the market. But have you ever looked up? Condos + apartments can offer lower prices, heightened security, amenities galore, maintenance services, and other beneficial features.

We rounded up seven on the market right now which are catching our eye:

700 S. Harbour Island Blvd., #121, Tampa | $460,000

Located inside the Parkcrest Harbour Island condo complex, this 1,050-sqft space offers unrivaled Big Guava access. The ground floor condo is situated just across the Hillsborough River from spots like the Tampa Riverwalk, Amalie Arena, Sparkman Wharf, and Water Street Tampa. Tropical surroundings are accompanied by in-unit laundry, a courtyard, a waterfront pool + hot tub, and round-the-clock security.

The pool at Parkcrest Harbour Island. Palm trees like the pool and the Marriott hotel is visible in the distance on the other side of the Hillsborough River.

Talk about a backyard view.

718 Gulf Blvd., #2, Indian Rocks Beach | $649,000

If you want to live within walking distance of the Gulf of Mexico, this is the spot for you. The two-bed, two-bath condo sits near the neighborhood’s entertainment + dining options. A beachy vibe awaits with 1,000+ sqft of living space.

3401 Bayshore Blvd., #503, Tampa | $2.65 million

Enjoy fifth-floor views of Tampa’s most iconic street, with ~2,700 sqft, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and open-plan flooring, all inside The Virage complex. The building has a dog park, a pool overlooking the Bay, a fitness center, and other convenient comforts.

Mayes’ Mediterranean-esque properties can be found around the area + this one will set a buyer back $3.2 million. (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay)
Festival
  • Sunset Music Festival will not take place in Tampa this year. In fact, it won’t take place at all, with organizers saying they’re taking a year off to rebrand + find a “fresh venue.” You can sign up for updates.
Coming Soon
  • Chick this out. Sugar Wing is bringing its range of chicken goodness to the Tampa Bay area. The chain is opening a location in Seminole later this month + a spot in Tampa’s Westshore neighborhood in May. Stop by for chicken sandwiches, strips, wings, and sugar cookies. (I Love the Burg)
Environment

Award
  • A Tampa high school junior will be honored in the nation’s capital next month. Rudra Patel was named among 126 National STEM Champions for his creation, NIMBL — a device which uses artificial intelligence to turn thought into movement, aimed at helping people with motor disabilities + paralysis. (WFLA)
Community
  • Construction is complete on Treasure Island’s new city hall. The $11 million project is finished, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Tuesday, April 2. There will be rentable community spaces within the building at 10451 Gulf Blvd., as well as waterfront views. (St. Pete Catalyst)

Carlton Ward Jr.'s photo collection captures the species’ fight against extinction. Admission is $10 to $12 + the collection runs through Sunday, March 17 at 1630 E. 7th Ave. in Ybor City.
Ranked
  • No. 2. That’s where the Sunshine Skyway Bridge ranked on a list of the country’s most scenic bridges for the daily commute. The rankings were compiled with input from 3,000 commuters, and only Hawaii’s Admiral Clarey Bridge came in higher than TBAY’s iconic structure.

Prepare for Tampa’s annual River O’ Green event

The Hillsborough River is colored with green dye. A boat is driving through the water, flying an Irish flag. The Unviersity of Tampa is in the background, with its iconic silver minarets sitting beneath a cloudless blue sky.

Get your green garb at the ready — St. Patrick’s Day is on the way.

And that means the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s annual River O’ Green event is coming back. The festivities are taking place on Saturday, March 16 — the day before the holiday — at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Hillsborough River will be turned shamrock green in honor of the holiday with eco-friendly dye. Officials say the dye is non-toxic + meets all EPA standards.

There will also be food + drink vendors, activities for kids, a pet costume contest, and live performances.

Officials are encouraging river-goers to make a transportation plan, as it could be tough to find parking downtown. The TECO Streetcar runs from Ybor City, and rideshare services like Uber, Lyft, and DASH are also available.

Heads up: We’ll be posting about it on Instagram.
