A recent Redfin report said the median selling price of a home in Tampa is $379,900.

That begs the question, what does that kind of money get you? Leave that to us. We rounded up six homes in the Tampa Bay area that are listed below that number.

$300,000 | 4203 93rd Ter. N., Pinellas Park

This two-bed, two-bath home backs onto Mainlands Golf Course, where you can watch the public work on their game from the comfort of the nearly 1,600-sqft bungalow.

$325,000 | 1005 E. Chelsea St., Tampa

This home in the heart of the trendy Seminole Heights neighborhood boasts its own front porch. Originally built in 1947, the property has plenty of outdoor space, and sits on a 7,250-sqft lot.

$329,000 | 8014 N. 13th St., Tampa

Surrounded by greenery, this updated home has modern appliances, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fenced-in backyard. Just a stone’s throw from the Hillsborough River, there are also several parks in the area, plus Rogers Park Golf Course is only minutes away.

Apartment complexes rise up on Bayshore Boulevard. Tampa's skyline is in the background.

You can even stay below the median price on Bayshore Blvd.

Are you saying you can live on Bayshore Boulevard for below the median? Enjoy 840 sqft. on Tampa Bay’s most iconic boulevard in a building that has a pool, laundry services, maintenance, security, and, of course, views of Hillsborough Bay.

$349,500 | 3629 28th Ave. S., St. Petersburg

Located close to beaches, waterfronts, golf courses, parks, and lakes, this three-bedroom home with a fenced-in yard offers an oasis of its own. It’s also ~10 minutes from downtown St. Pete’s bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and all the rest the Burg boasts.

$375,000 | 1482 Canterbury Dr., Clearwater

Your toes could be in the Gulf of Mexico within 15 minutes of leaving this home. With a screened-in porch, large backyard, upgraded appliances, three bedrooms, and 1,700+ sqft, staying below the median doesn’t seem so bad.

How to help during Manatee Awareness Month

A manatee mother and her calf are pictured. They are side-by-side, swimming through gorgeous blue water.

November is Manatee Awareness Month. First declared back in 1979, the month gives TBAY residents a chance to help our favorite whiskered sea mammals by raising awareness about the dangers they face.

Here are three ways you can get involved in our area:
  • TECO’s Manatee Viewing Center is now open for the winter down in Apollo Beach. Stop by for a glimpse of the iconic creature (for free) + to learn more about them at the on-site education center. Pro tip: Wait for the water to drop below 68 degrees.
  • A trip to ZooTampa supports the institution’s ongoing efforts in manatee conservation, rescue and rehabilitation. The zoo is also hosting an event on Saturday, Nov. 18 in honor of the awareness month.
  • The Save the Manatee club offers symbolic adoptions from $25 per year which goes to helping gentle giants in danger and their habitats. The website currently lists five in TBAY.
