Hockey is back, Champa Bay. The puck dropped on the Bolts’ preseason earlier this week, so we’re taking a look at what the 2023-2024 season has in store for our Tampa Bay Lightning.
In the news:
Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is likely out for the next two months after undergoing back surgery, the team announced this week.
Team captain Steven Stamkos is seeking a contract extension. This is the final year of his eight-year, $68 million contract. If he doesn’t reach an agreement with the team before next summer, he’ll become a free agent. Stamkos has only played for Tampa since being drafted in 2008, suiting up for more than 1,000 career games.
Reminder: Some Wednesday night games will be streamed exclusively on TNT, which can be accessed through most cable providers.

Correction
In yesterday’s story about Oktoberfest Tampa, we mistakenly said that street parking north of Kennedy Boulevard is free on weekends and weeknights after 6 p.m. This is incorrect (guess we haven’t parked there in a few years, huh?).

Needless to say, it’s a pretty packed weekend here in TBAY. I’m looking forward to picking out a pumpkin at Gallagher’s and maybe checking out Vibes of the Bay. I hope your first fall-filled weekend is one to beat.
