Eating meat-free hasn’t always been easy, but in Tampa Bay, it’s a piece of (vegan) cake.
Our local food scene is as vibrant as ever, so it’s no surprise there is a slew of local chefs serving up fresh, vegetarian bites across town. From vegetarian pizza to scrumptious vegan tacos, here are 21 restaurants serving up meat-free fare in TBAY.
🍑 The brunch bunch
Vine Vegan, 2080 Badlands Dr., Brandon | This all-vegan, family-owned restaurant dishes out love with every bite. Try this: The all-day gluten-free pancakes served with a tofu scramble if you’re feeling more breakfasty. And if you’re feeling more lunchy, get the Buffalo Impossible nugget wrap (it’s stuffed with tots).
The Taco Bell Crunch Wrap Supreme doesn’t hold a candle to this vegan rendition.
Florish Plant-Based Pizza & Bowls, 2307 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Suite A, Tampa | Let your taste buds savor a slice of delicious vegan pizza. Pro tip: We recommend the Margherita pizza with vegan cheese.
3 Dot Dash Vegan Kitchen, 6203 N. Florida Ave., Tampa | Bite into an Impossible burger or other handcrafted, plant-based sandwiches.
🕯Date night
Voodu Vegan Bistro, 9002 N. 40th St., Tampa | Looking for a scrumdiddlyumptious night on the town? Located next to Busch Gardens, you could grab a sushi roll + then hop on the SheiKra.
Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe,5119 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa | Where indie music + vegan food meet — there is no meat. We recommend the Good Burger — a veggie patty smothered in sweet mustard, garlicky ketchup, vegan cheese, and sweet candied carrots.
