  • Greetings, Captain Kirk. Legendary “Star Trek” actor, William Shatner, is coming to the Straz this fall for a “Wrath of Khan” screening. He’s answering questions after the Wednesday, Nov. 8 show. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 30. (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay)

  • Where’s the beef? Head over to the Tropicana Field parking lot this Saturday, July 1 for the 2nd Annual BBQ & Jazz Fest. The parking lot party runs from 12-5 p.m. + features local jazz bands, barbecue and other food trucks, and an art market. (I Love the Burg)

  • Central Avenue’s Zoie’s closed its doors on Monday, June 26. Owner Jeff Baker cited health issues as his reason for closing the spot. The LGBTQ restaurant opened last year + served Southern staples and craft cocktails. (St. Pete Catalyst)

  • A meteotsunami hit Clearwater Beach last week. Meaning, the water jumped up about two and a half feet higher than usual — a move caused by the severe weather. (WFLA)
