The best thing about the holiday season is the desserts. Oops...I mean time spent with family (sorry Mom).

But really, Tampa Bay’s eateries have put forth a plethora of decadent and unique desserts this year, and we here at TBAY today aim to sample them all.

Here’s a few treats to get you started on that holiday joy:
  • Pete’s General is bringing it this holiday season. The Central Avenue spot is serving up less traditional holiday bites. Think: eggnog pie, a cranberry orange with white chocolate drizzle, gingerbread coffee cake, and peppermint brownies.
  • Chill Bros Scoop Shop has a holiday flavor on its roster: Candy Cane Forest. The decadent flavor is made with smooth peppermint ice cream and dark chocolate stracciatella. Yum.
  • Do cocktails count as a dessert? When they’re this sweet they do. Local haunt Oxford Exchange is serving up two signature cocktails this season. The “It’s a Wonderful Cocktail” is expertly made with lavender gin and garnished with fresh rosemary and cranberries. And “The Gingerbread House”
includes Buddy Brew espresso, Wheatley Vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, and a graham cracker rim.
