Tampa’s Terrific Tourism Traffic

Tampa Bay will break tourism records in 2023

Are you looking for a new gig? You might want to try the tourism industry — especially with the recent influx of out-of-towners.

Currently, more than 50,000 people have jobs in tourism in Hillsborough County. And in 2021 alone, Tampa Bay saw 24.6 million visitors.

Earlier in the pandemic, Visit Tampa Bay broadcast to the nation that the Tampa Convention Center was the No.1 destination for major events during the shutdown period. With some of those events coming back for 2023 (a handful with more than 10,000 attendees) and new ones on the way, TCC is shaping up to have one of its busiest years yet.

Plus, it’s easy to imagine that with all the space TCC seems to have — with more on the way — they can accommodate more tourists and event-goers.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Brad.

Editor’s pick: We shared about the new mobility mats at St. Pete Beach last week. While I think they are awesome for getting people onto the sand — I’m genuinely interested to know why the mats don’t stretch down closer to the water. My mom has Multiple Sclerosis and LOVES the beach, but can never really see all of it. Do you know why? Let us know.

Answer: D. All of the above
