Savor these Tampa Bay area-brewed summer beers

TBAY is chock-full of independent breweries, and their summer offerings are back.

A mostly full glass of beer at Armature Works sits on a second-floor ledge. People are chilling by the river front below, and the blue sky has a handful of wispy clouds above the distant Tampa city skyline.

A cold one on a hot day.

There’s more than one way to cool off from the heat this summer. We recently rounded up some of our favorite local breweries — but now they’re back with some barley believable summer specials.

  • First up is 3 Daughters Brewing. The family-run St. Pete brewery just released its Blueberry Wheat Ale, described as “light, smooth, hazy, and fruity.” Summer in a glass.
  • Across the bridge, Tampa Bay Brewing Company has re-released its seasonal Last Days of Summer sour ale. With peach + mango flavors, its tartness offers a refreshing twist beneath summer skies. TBBC has also brought back Tropical Depression — a double dry hopped IPA with big tropical fruit flavors.

We also recommend hitting up BarrieHaus Beer Co. on any Sunday throughout June for the brewery’s Kölsch Days of Summer event, featuring traditional table service in authentic cylindrical glasses.

ICYMI: We’re on the hunt for local beverage businesses to take part in our upcoming Drink Up Week — it’s free to sign up.
