The New Year can be full of hope wonder, and promise. But sometimes, it can be difficult to make good on those New Year’s resolutions, and that’s ok.

But if you want a little inspo to fulfill some of the most common new year, new you goals in the Tampa Bay area, we’ve got you covered:

Improve health

We all want to be healthier, and it can be hard to know where to start. Fortunately for us here in TBAY, there are so many ways to get outside and be active.

You could get out in nature at one of our wonderful parks, like Hillsborough River State Park, or bring the doggos for a stroll at a dog-friendly beach, like the ones on Davis Islands or Picnic Island.

We’ve rounded up some other ways to hit those fitness goals too, including great hikes in the Tampa Bay area, as well as yoga spots, and golf courses.

Increase community involvement

Want to become more involved in the Tampa Bay community? Here are some ways you can help.

Volunteer your time with a charitable organization, like Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful or the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Support local world class galleries + museums like the Tampa Bay History Center, The Dalí Museum, Fairgrounds St. Pete, and the Museum of Science and Industry.

You could even shop local at our range of flea markets, or visit iconic landmarks to learn more about TBAY.

Create memories with loved ones

If you’re looking to make 2024 a year that you and those dearest to you will never forget, there’s no shortage of opportunity here.

Make memories with the whole family at one of Tampa Bay’s kid-friendly activities, including ZooTampa, the St. Pete Pier, and the Glazer Children’s Museum.

Or you could always find a babysitter and head off on a date night to one of our areas newest restaurants. After that, some live music could make it a perfect evening.

A quick note

It’s City Editor Patrick here, and I just want to say one thing personally. Sometimes, New Year’s resolutions are fulfilled. Sometimes, they are not. Either way, you are doing your best, and that’s all you can do.

I’ll hand it over to Alfred Tennyson to finish this one off:

“Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.”
— Alfred Tennyson, “In Memoriam”
